Carmella vs. Emma

They talk about Emma trying to get her career back on track. Emma is able to slap on the Tarantula, but then gets hit with a drop toe hold after releasing the hold. Carmella puts on Code Of Silence and that is all? So much for Emma, I suppose.

Match Rating: 1/2*

NXT Championship #1 Contender Tournament Semifinal Match
Adrian Neville vs. Baron Corbin

I don't think Corbin will win this time in under a minute. He does get a big clothesline to start things off. Corbin hits a variation of a suplex and gets a 2 count. Neville is able to chop out the legs with a dropkick and follows up with a kick to the head. A springboard missile dropkick sends Corbin out of the ring. Neville goes for a slingshot dive, but Corbin catches him and drops him on the guardrail. Out of the frame, Bull Dempsey attacks Corbin behind the referee's back. Corbin is barely able to get back in the ring to break the count, but Neville goes up top for the Red Arrow and hits it for the victory. Who in the world wants that feud to continue? This was fine for what it was supposed to be.

Match Rating: *3/4

Don't worry folks, next week Baron Corbin will face Bull Dempsey with no disqualifications at TakeOver.

Bayley vs. Becky Lynch

Becky is still doing the headbanging thing, which is pretty cheesy. After an early flurry from Becky, Bayley dumps her out of the ring. Out comes Sasha Banks to observe. Bayley misses in the corner and Becky throws her down with a leg whip. Bayley is right back and goes after Becky's leg. Bayley hits a Bayley-To-Belly and gets the pinfall. I'm not really sure why this is so short, because there is a lot of time left on this episode to fill. After the match, Sasha isn't happy with the result. Sasha gives her a shove and Becky shoves her to the mat. Out comes Charlotte and all four ladies just kind of look at each other and that's it.

Match Rating: *1/4

Tyler Breeze has a backstage interview. They just have nothing to do with his character.

NXT Championship #1 Contender Tournament Semifinal Match
Hideo Itami vs. Finn Balor

We get some mat wrestling before going into a commercial break. Balor rolls through on a sunset flip and hits a dropkick to a seated Itami for a 2 count. Neville is on commentary for this match, by the way. Balor goes back and forth between some submission holds and some quick pin attempts. Itami tries to get something going and sits on the top rope, but gets hit by an enzuigiri and we have ourselves a second commercial break. Itami is able to put together some offense, but Balor escapes the GTS attempt. We get some kicks to the head and both men are down. Balor hits a Sling Blade and then hits a huge running dropkick into the corner. Balor goes up top and hits Coup de Grace for the victory. That dropkick looked vicious. These two had a good main event here and Balor has been pushed as the bigger star so far here. They shake hands after the match. Balor and Neville then shake hands.

Match Rating: ***

We get a Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn video package to close out the show.

This was a pretty good episode overall, even if the early matches were a little off. The main event delivered enough and TakeOver is looking to be the strongest one to date.

Overall Rating: 61%
